Facilities
Monitors / sound system
At strategic places, at various places on and around the track, monitors are placed so that the race progress can be monitored closely by everybody. These monitors are positioned, amongst others, on the driver's stand, in the pit lane, the paddock, in the room for the technical inspection, and of course several monitors
in the race control room. All over the track area, amongst others: in the paddock, the driver's stand, in the pit lane and around the entire track, speakers are placed which are connected with the sound system, so that the drivers can be informed by the race control staff about the progress of the race.
Lap counting system
During races, every individual car is followed fully automatic by the computer. Monitored are, amongst others: the number of laps, lap times, and passing times. Even during the training the computer is always on, so that the drivers can monitor their own lap times. The basis for the lap counting system is the commonly used lap counting system AMBrc with personal transponders. Technically the system works as follows. In the track a counting loop (an electrical wire) is integrated and every car has its own personal transponder aboard. The cars transmit with their transponder a unique signal. This signal is picked up by the counting loop as soon as the car driver over it and passes this signal to the counting computer. With special developed software on the lap counting computer the lap times are calculated for every car. All of these data are rearranged constantly so that the progress of the race is clear at any time.
Score panel
To make the system complete, some AMCA members, during the year of 1996, amongst others: John Langen, Gert Gerritsen, René van Lobberegt and Ben Veeneman, have developed and built by their own a huge electronic score panel (dimensions: 3,50 x 1,75 meter). It is a complete own design of mechanical parts, electronic control and software. This is a unique score panel in the model racing sport, especially because all 10 drivers in the race can be monitored perfectly and easy by the audience.
Tribune
To give the audience a perfect view over the track, AMCA members have built a tribune in 1990 which offers sufficient sitting space to approxima-tely 200 spectators. The access to the tribune is always free of charge.
Canteen
Of course the Auto Modelbouw Club Apeldoorn has its own canteen. In the canteen for example coffee, soft drinks, and other food and beverages are available. It speaks for it selves that sufficient and proper toilets are also available. Other than that, a telephone and fax can be used. The canteen is open at every club evening (Wednesday) from 19:00 tot 22.00 hrs, and at Sundays from 13:00 to 17.00 hrs. During a race the canteen on Sunday is already open at 09.00 hrs.
Maintenance
On a daily bases some AMCA members, are taking care of the maintenance and the further modernisation of the all facilities.
